Native to Brazil and Peru. The species was named for Dr. Nancy Shui-Fong Ma, a pathologist who mapped this species' genetics. Aotus nancymaae is a model for research on the Duffy antigen and on the hormone oxytocin. Also called the Ma's Night Monkey or Peruvian red-necked owl monkey
