Cerebrósidos que contienen como grupo cabeza polar fracciones de glucosa unidas en el enlace glucosídico al grupo hidroxilo de las ceramidas. Su acumulación en los tejidos, como resultado de un defecto en la betaglucosidasa, es la causa de la enfermedad de Gaucher.
