Definition:
Hesperidium is a modified, septate berry with leathery rind or peel (exocarp, mesocarp). The interior (endocarp) encloses large fleshy, juicy pouches composed of several wedge-shaped sections. Juice pouches or vesicles are outgrowths of endocarp walls.
