Definition:
Proteínas neurotóxicas del veneno de la krait con bandas de Taiwán (Bungarus multicinctus, una elápida). La alfabungarotoxina bloquea los receptores de acetilcolina nicotínica, por lo que se ha utilizado para aislarlos y estudiarlos. Las beta y gammabungarotoxinas actúan presinápticamente, produciendo la liberación y la depleción de acetilcolina. Las formas alfa y beta se caracterizaron; la alfa es similar a las neurotoxinas grandes, largas o tipo II de otros venenos elapídicos.
