Una bacteria que causa tuberculosis en aves de corral domésticas y en otras aves. En cerdos, puede causar enfermedades localizadas y algunas veces diseminadas. Este organismo ocurre ocasionalmente en ganado bovino y ovino. Debe ser distinguido del complejo M. avium, el cual infecta principalmente a humanos.
